This piece is exquisite and most likely 19th C - from Yemen  - This bib style necklace is embellished with many
many charms which were made by the famous Jewish silversmiths of the time - using the technique of filigree and granulation- The
fabric
looks to have once been a purple velvet but with time it has faded to a deep rose - the back is lined with a thick cotton fabric. About 10" across and 4 1/2"
long with the center medallion hanging another 3" down. It looks to have once been gold washed and this too is fading.
