Here we have a lovely NOS deadstock NWT classic Fornasetti neck-tie in vibrant yellow and black.
100% silk and Made in Italy.

The hang tag reads “This neck-tie is created with an exclusive pattern and made with the best materials in existence. Limited production. Dry clean only.”
The other information on the tie says “Tema E Variazioni #224 Fornasetti Milano Made in Italy”
If you haven’t heard of Piero Fornasetti, you should study up on him. He was quite the designer.
Here’s a bit of info from Wikipedia - “Piero Fornasetti (18 November 1913, in Milan – 15 October 1988) was an Italian versatile and eclectic artist, characterised by an unstoppable creative flair that made him one of the most prolific figures of the 20th century, and difficult to ascribe to a specific movement.”
Obviously, the pattern is of a woman's eyes. Could it be Mona? Could it be Lisa? Or both! Who knows? But I think it is Lina! That is the name of the woman he always used in his female design motifs.
Simply stunning and makes a very bold design statement.
